CARPOCALYPSE
The 2009 CSCA Pinewood Derby
Thursday, June 18th, 2009 | 6:30 pm
Capital City Scooters | 2509 Summit Street, Columbus, Ohio 43202
If you were there last year, you know what a blast it was. If you weren’t, here’s your chance to experience the heat, the speed, and the fury. And all for a good cause: proceeds will feed the new CSCA scholarship fund.
Official kits for the race are now claimed. But don’t let that stop you from joining the action. The Derby is as much fun to watch as it is to race in. Root for your favs. Heckle the MC. Place a wager or three. It’s a great time.
What’s new for 2009??
Question is, what isn’t? Swell new location. Controversial new awards. Rockin’ new trophies. And a little thing you need to see to believe: our new 42-foot, four-lane aluminum track, formed in hot metal from parts unknown. It’s faster. Shinier. Carpocalypsier.
So bring your spouse. Your kids. Your SCCA Civic tuner club. We had a huge crowd last year, and everyone had a blas!.

We know you’ve missed CSCA’s iconic promo posters. We have too. The postcards have been a great way for CSCA to lower costs...but it’s not quite the same, is it? Fret no more. Thanks to a new partnership with Columbus artist and screen-printer Clinton Reno, the CSCA Event Poster is back and looking better than ever.
The new posters, available in limited editions, will be a great addition to your collection — and are a great way to raise funds for CSCA events and our new scholarship fund.
- Here’s the scoop:
- - For 2009, there will be four custom screen-printed posters, produced in editions of 60.
- - Each poster will be individually numbered.
- - Each poster will cost $10, and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Sales will start at 6:30 pm during each event’s social hour.
We are pleased to announce that our own Dylan Menges designed a beautiful, frame-worthy piece that will commemorate our 4th running of Pinewood.
So spread the good word and get there early on Thursday, June 18, at Capital City Scooters.
