Capturing the Balance
Designing for design-minded
Designing for the fashion industry can be tricky business. But for Roanne Adams, creative director and founder of RoAndCo, business is good.
Roanne's NYC-based design studio is nestled in TriBeCa and services a range of fashion, art, and lifestyle clients -- like American Eagle, Nike, Refinery29, Steven Alan, and Timo Weiland. Their design, image, and branding capabilities have landed them a score of awards, and Roanne was recognized in Print Magazine as one of the "20 Brightest Design Stars Under 30" in 2006. Shortly thereafter she opened RoAndCo.
RoAndCo's "5 Things We Follow" methodology offers the maxim "Different for different's sake: Wrong. Uncommon ideas that are intuitive and exciting: Right." This, and the four other principle's that Roanne will discuss, lay the foundation for RoAndCo's approach to design.
Before opening RoAndCo, Roanne was an art director at Wolff Olins and has since expanded her expertise to include photography and branding. She holds a BFA in communication design from Parsons School of Design.
Join CSCA on Thursday, July 21, for a night of high fashion and even higher design.
